Jimmy Muir lives in one of Sheffield's roughest areas. On his last day of school, he is presented with two choices for the future: work in the mine or in the brewery. But Jimmy dreams of becoming a professional football player. Jimmy will live for Saturday when he can play again. Then Jimmy starts a relationship with Annie Doherty whose uncle wants to give him a chance at a real football club.
