"Six friends...Three Kinds of Love"

Aging singer Katie Keen wants to rediscover her roots. She returns to New Zealand to get her life back on track. In the 1970s, Katie was "hot" in the United States and even reached number 1 on the charts for a week. She will move in with her 'old' confidant Stephen. Stephen is someone who is always there for everyone under the guise: "you can't crack your friends anyway". Stephen can hardly wait to get there and plays all her old hits. This much to the dismay of Mark, a lyricist with whom Stephen is in love.
