Unmarried plot
"Romance was a word in a torch-song to her"
A retired boxer falls in love with a nightclub owner. The nightclub has seen better days since Prohibition. Both feeling depressed in the current situation, they decide to live together in the house of the boxer's recently murdered manager. The young son of the murdered manager comes by and the duo takes care of him. They set out to prepare him for a life as a prize fighter in the ring.
