Too Much, Too Soon plot
"Always a man, almost any man!"
The listless but decent young Diana Barrymore falls short of love at home. Her famous father, John Barrymore, seems like a decent, careful man when he's not drunk. That often happens and then he behaves monstrous. Diana's embittered mother is too busy with herself to pay attention to her daughter. Diana eventually becomes an actress at the theater and seeks her happiness with many men, such as actor Vincent Bryant, the jealous and possessive tennis player John Howard, and the alcohol-addicted actor Robert Wilcox. But Diana cannot find her happiness, both on her own and privately, and, in the "tradition" of her family, seeks solace in alcohol.
