The Three Passions plot
Philip can't shake his responsibility for the death of a foreman at his father's factory. He wants to become a priest and isolate himself from the rest of the world. When it turns out that Philip is the only one able to avert a factory strike, his father uses his beloved Victoria to talk him out of it. Philip remains adamant until he finds Victoria being courted by an untrustworthy bastard.
