The Stoning plot
Texan Kathreen Mulligan is studying Islamic sciences in Hanover. There she falls in love with the Iranian Hamid, marries him, follows him to Iran and converts to Islam. But when she is raped and becomes pregnant unintentionally, she has an abortion. For this, she is flogged and a year of solitary confinement and subsequently is prosecuted for adultery and sentenced to death by stoning.
