The Shape Of Things follows the relationship between art student Evelyn (Rachel Weisz) and the somewhat shy Adam (Paul Rudd). After meeting at an exhibition, a relationship blossoms between the two. Evelyn takes matters into her own hands and Adam changes appearance and behavior at a brisk pace. All this does not go unnoticed by his friends Jenny (Gretchen Mol) and Philip (Frederick Weller), who see this metamorphosis with great suspicion. The development that Adam goes through ultimately has unexpected and profound consequences for all involved.
