The Race plot
Mary (11) is not like other girls; she dreams of becoming a race car driver. If there is a race in the village, she just has to join in! With her best friend Tom, she tries to build the winning racecar. But suddenly he has to leave, her mother is fed up with the farm life and her father refuses to help her. Everything seems to go wrong, until her dad reveals a secret from his childhood.
