The Four Poster plot

Film version of Jan de Hartog's award-winning Broadway play in which a couple walks over their marriage and in which a four-poster bed plays a central role. The film traces the marriage of John (Rex Harrison) and Abby (Lilli Palmer) from their wedding day until John's death, shortly after Abby's death from cancer. It's a love that survived wars, another woman, and even the death of their favorite son.
