Jack Killoran is a lawyer who dares to take legal sidetracks on behalf of his wealthy and influential clients in Chicago. Blackmail and bribery are no strangers to him, hence his nickname 'The Fixer'. One day he narrowly escapes death in an accident with a horse and that event brings him to his senses. He wants to improve his life and no longer get involved in illegal practices, but that is not so obvious. His wife is not thrilled with his sudden sense of morality and his dubious past continues to haunt him professionally. When one of his ex-clients takes his life, Jack Killoran must try to 'fix' his own future.
