The Dragon Painter plot
In the peaceful countryside of Japan, a famous artist, Kano Indara, tries to pass on his talents to an apprentice. He becomes desperate because there is no one good enough. Indara meets Tatsu, an enthusiastic man who paints landscapes and lives in the mountains. Tatsu tells Indara a story about a former love, a mythical princess turned into a dragon. Tatsu paints lakes and waterfalls and says he is painting his love, which is somewhere "under the water". Indara realizes that Tatsu has talent and persuades him to leave the mountains.
