The Climb plot
Baltimore, 1959. Young Danny Himes (Gregory Smith) dreams of climbing the old local radio tower, before it is demolished, to prove his mettle. His father Earl (David Strathairn) did not serve in World War II and is considered a coward by the villagers. When Danny meets his neighbor John Langer (John Hurt), an old engineer with lots of memories that he vividly recounts, they come up with a plan to make Danny's dream come true. Danny outdoes himself to surpass his father's reputation, while Earl turns out not to be as cowardly as the village thinks.
