The Blind Goddess plot
"It Is Full of Action! Drama! Suspense!"
Although Big Bill Devens is a powerful politician today, he remains true to his working-class past. Deven's wife ran away from him twenty years ago and his daughter Moira believes she is dead. Moira falls in love with the young and handsome lawyer Hugh Dillon and Devens secures him a job at the prosecutor's office. One night Devens' wife, now old and decrepit, returns to ask for forgiveness. She is now known as Aileen Clayton. The next day, however, Devens is found murdered. Aileen is suspected of the crime, but she refuses to speak or reveal her true identity because she wants to spare Moira the pain of learning who she really is…
