"Behind a forbidden door is a terrifying secret!"
Brigadier General Leslie Groves (Brian Donlevy) is designated by President Roosevelt as the military supervisor of the top-secret Manhattan project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. After much trial and error, the first atomic bomb is finally ready to be tested, although there is the possibility that the explosion could trigger a chain reaction that could wipe out all of humanity.
