Siddhartha plot
Siddharta (Shashi Kapoor) is a Brahmin son who devotes his life to the search for the true self. As an ascetic in the mountains, he meditates and fasts, but he does not find the truth. Wandering as a mendicant, he hears talk about Buddha, but the great Master cannot give him the truth either. Then he plunges into worldly life, becomes a lover of the courtesan Kamala, acquires wealth and property, until he feels that he will perish from this.
