Shito no Densetsu plot

Summer 1945, towards the end of the war. The Sonobe family lives in a remote village in Hokkaido after being evacuated from Tokyo. The grown daughter Kieko is expected to marry the village chief's son, Takamori. However, Kieko's brother reveals that Takamori has committed barbaric atrocities on the front in China. When Keiko learns of this, she doesn't want to know anything about Takamori. The locals' distrust of the Sonobe family continues to grow, spurred on by Takamori himself, who deliberately stirs up a fight that eventually leads to a spiral of violence.
