Sennenbi plot

An eleven-year-old orphan boy is sent from the big city to his grandparents in a small coastal village to live there. Feeling responsible for his father's unfortunate death, he is very introverted and has trouble making friends with the local youth. An eccentric old doctor takes him under his wing and tells him about an ancient ceremony in which a sacred flame must be brought to the mainland from a remote island by a swimmer.
