Public Hearing plot

Village interest is at stake in this meticulously reconstructed public hearing on the expansion of a local Wal-Mart in Allegany, a village of 8,000 in upstate New York, USA. Complete monologues and imaginings from the actual transcript are re-enacted in real-time by actors instead of the original speakers. This creates a conceptual metafilm that comically examines both the democratic process and its own origin.
