Horrible.

Robin Williams really puts down a very annoying character, but that bothered him more. I was really annoyed by him throughout the film and at the end I was mainly supporting his opponents. But yeah, of course you're looking at a Hollywood product.

The hard science vs friendly human story that is set up really does not convince for a second. Williams who just wants to improve the world with some corny insight and thus manages to gather a whole herd of believers around him ... it could have been the start of a sect.

Visually it's nothing, the soundtrack is pure kitsch and the bottom line of this movie is actually something that irritated me throughout the entire movie. Nah, this kind of Hollywood smut is definitely not for me. A few separate moments can still go through, but they can be counted on 1 hand.

A very sweet and somewhat predictable story, where I kept wondering if it was all so comical in reality. Robin Williams plays a sympathetic rebel who repeatedly kicks against the authority of the medical school he so desperately wants to attend.

In addition, Adams was suicidal, but there is nothing to notice in this film besides the opening. He fights against 'authority' and that is caricatured by a particularly rigid director. In short, the whole story comes across as very romanticized, and feels more like an imaginative children's movie than something that actually happened.

The countless string orchestras that support the story make it even more sentimental than the story itself is.

But those who can see through that (or just love it) will find Patch Adams a very nice feel-good film, with a smile and a tear, which is definitely worth a watch.

Zero your mind, and get lost in this world full of childish naivety, and this film gives you a warm feeling. And that's exactly the kind of movie that has always been Williams' strength.

A large glass of pure orange.

I have to admit: once every 10 or 15 minutes there is a strong one-liner or reasonable joke. But after an hour I couldn't take the sweetness and predictability anymore.
