Beautiful film that, in my opinion, gives an authentic picture of life in Afghanistan in the 60s, 70s and some 30 years later. The problems of that country are made clear by the gripping story of the two friends. The repetition of traumas was intense and Amir's attempt to structurally improve this and thereby redeem his own guilt (feeling) towards Hassan moved me. He also broke through his own trauma, he now dared to show courage.

Seems like an interesting book to read.

Beautiful drama against the background of the history of Afghanistan. Undoubtedly the book is richer and better, but especially if you haven't read the book (like me) then the film knows how to captivate from the beginning and move you towards the end.

Film that can be compared to Incendies in terms of story and background, but at the same time remains far from that level. By the way, never read the book, so no frame of reference in that area, although it is clear after reading most of the comments that the film does not exactly do the book justice.

As usual I have a lot of trouble with the child's perspective in the beginning, especially with that flying kite, something that is not due to the film, but to me. The culture and era is very nice to see, but it doesn't interest me very much. The flight for the Russians to America is not particularly cliché, just like the call to go back, the fact that things have gone badly for Hassan and that Amir naturally adopts the son after a difficult search.

The Kite Runner didn't really appeal to me and I was therefore ready that the film was over. Just not my thing despite I started it with reasonable expectations and good courage.
