"They lived, died, laughed and loved behind a newsreel camera."

Two brothers are both cameramen by trade, but for two competing employers in 1950s Australia. Both do everything they can to get the best story. The film follows their adventures and misadventures in the context of profound social and political changes in their homeland. Frank Maguire is vehemently against making constitutional changes, while his brother Len Maguire welcomes every change in his life and the world around him with open arms.
