Part two is mainly set in the poet's house in Rome, where he lives with his mother. A boy, Valerio, visits him several times, because he is writing a thesis on the poet's work. His real intention, however, is to ask the poet to read his first novel and help him publish it. When the poet finds out, a violent altercation ensues. They strike a deal, the poet has sex in exchange for his help with Valerio's book. In part three, the poet walks through the desolate streets of Rome at night. He meets a boy, asks him to dinner and offers him to star in one of his new movies. They drive for a while in the poet's car, who makes his first advances. The nervous boy wants to see money first. Later on at the beach they get into an argument.
