First time "Bollywood".

Although afterwards I don't have the idea that I have really seen something typical Bollywood. The film takes place too much in America for that, but it also just feels way too American. Because anyone who comments on the corny of Hollywood films had better ignore this.

What a terribly pathetic piece of film. I'm amazed when I read things like "little movie" or "arthouse", you don't get much more sentimental or emotionally epic I don't think. Khan is half an angel (which by the way often annoys me in films about autism, the characters are always romanticized enormously and if they act annoying it always seems to be due to their illness) and trots across America to single-handedly bridge the gap between the white American and to dig the Muslim.

Meanwhile, he is also capable of some other great deeds, such as rounding up a terrorist cell and saving an entire village from drowning. Just another day in the life of Khan. You have to wait until the last hour for this, for that is a slightly more timid but still very corny romantic comedy that drags on until halfway. The drama with the son (death by a football, you hardly believe it is a weak catalyst for the second part and heralds the decline of the film.

Forrest Gump is of course never far away, other well-known autistic characters also float around in the background all the time. Khan (just like the rest of the cast) is not very special and mainly sticks to mannerisms, there is not much humanity in his role, although the film just doesn't allow that.

Next time try to get your hands on a real Bollywood movie, this Americanized vehicle is in any case not too good. Although it doesn't surprise me that it's in the top 250, see more and more of those corny handkerchief movies appearing here lately.

First hour is a true Bollywood. After the 9/11 attack makes me go for the full 5 stars. Also a wonderful soundtrack.

Guns, what a sweet and moralistic film this is. Pretty mediocre acting, pretty stupid story and almost nowhere credible. I have to say that the film held up reasonably well in the beginning, but actually the last hour and a half has been a waste of my time. There are very few bright spots in this film.
