"He lied, cheated, and killed all in the name of love."

Cecily Harrington, living on a low income, wins a fortune in a lottery. She decides to travel instead of marrying her fiancé Nigel Lawrence. Cecily is visited by a stranger, Manuel Cortez, who wants to rent her apartment. She falls in love with Manuel and marries him. On their honeymoon, the newlywed couple goes to an isolated English village. In this village, Manuel is known as a fortune hunter and is said to have killed several women in the past. Is Cecily still able to reverse her hasty marriage to Manuel?
