Life with Billy plot

"The crime that shocked a nation. The abused wife who struck back."

Jane (Nancy Beatty) falls for Billy Stafford (Stephan McHattie) just as her own marriage is on the rocks. Still, she should have known better, for the irritable Billy had already had two marriages himself and was known as a drinker with very loose fists. She becomes pregnant and is imprisoned. Billy's behavior becomes increasingly violent and Jane's and her children's lives become hell. Until she can't stand it anymore and shoots him like a mad dog. She has to answer to the court.
