L'Apprenti plot
Farm life is hard, as the slaughter of a pig proves in the first five minutes of the film. When Mathieu, an intern from the agricultural school, digs his hands into the sow's guts, he notices that it is nice and warm. The things Mathieu learned in school don't apply to Paul's farm, who doesn't see his animals as products and believes you don't have to work all day. Slowly Mathieu breaks free and learns to enjoy the rhythm of the seasons. However, the misunderstanding between him and his divorced parents, who do not understand the choice for his education, remains.
