Ji Sor plot
The film tells two stories more than 50 years apart. In the present, the young architect Wai is ordered by her father to accompany her Aunt Foon to an appointment with an old acquaintance in Guangzhou. Wai is upset that she has been abandoned by her fiancé for another woman. This evokes memories for Foon of her relationship with Wan during the war. Wan, a former prostitute, was the eighth wife of the owner of a silk factory where Foon worked at the time. To escape an arranged marriage, Foon had joined a 'Ji Sor' commune with a vow of perpetual chastity. Foon gets pregnant by a childhood friend.
