Nine-year-old Aria lives unwittingly between her parents' violent divorce and has lost contact with her half-sisters. Her parents don't love her as much as she would like. Aria is the plaything in the conflict between her father and mother. Rejected and disowned, she walks through the city with a striped bag and a black cat, trying to protect her innocence.

The adventures of 9-year-old Aria [Giulia Salerno] and her dysfunctional family, with a constantly quarreling father [Gabriel Garko] and mother [Charlotte Gainsbourg] and a sister [Anna Lou Castoldi] who gets much more (positive) attention than Aria. At school, her friendship with Angelica [Alice Pea] is tested in various ways in this navel-gazing, aimlessly meandering family drama that, according to Asia Argento, is not autobiographical, even though her middle name is Aria and Salerno shows many physical similarities (the eyes, the teeth) with her. In any case: a story is hard to find and boredom quickly sets in. The dialogues are also frequently drowned out by the soundtrack.
