Elle S'en Va plot
Bettie is in her early sixties. When she runs out of cigarettes, she gets into her car and drives off, leaving her mother, customers and the employees of her Breton restaurant to fend for themselves. However, her search continues. The shops are all closed and Bettie has no desire to return to her old life. She has just learned that her longtime lover has run off with a younger woman and life with her troublesome mother is no fun. She travels on and encounters various colorful figures to eventually end up at a reunion of French masses from the year 1969.
