Ich Werde Nicht Schweigen plot
Northern Germany, 1948. Since her husband's death, seamstress Margarete Oelkers has been solely responsible for raising her two children and can hardly make ends meet. When one day she is told that she is not entitled to a supplementary widow's pension, she becomes completely upset and is admitted to a psychiatric institution. One day Margarete makes the acquaintance of Antje, a woman whose mother recently died in the institution. The circumstances of the old woman's death immediately raise many questions for Margarete.
