Adrien Brody as a slightly arrogant and hot-tempered detective and he does it believably. I think it's a good rendition of a not always sympathetic character. For example, the little time he spends with his son degenerates into impatience and dominance, and some of his choices lead directly to someone's death.
The soundtrack is beautiful and well-maintained (even called genius) and therefore a pleasant addition to the images. Furthermore, a nice fifties atmosphere, beautifully implemented in every detail: clothing, interiors, cars, photo cameras, etc. Some moments are suspenseful, such as the children's performance with Superman and a fight here and there.

You really have to pay attention to the sound with this film.
Great, that song: "The girl can't help it" as she accidentally shoots her fiancé in the head
And so, especially in the choice of music, there are more subtle, well-thought-out, black-comedy jokes, such as the music and atmosphere at the funeral and the love song during a woman's unloving and calculating action.
Transitions between scenes are sometimes also connected by sound, for example by the ringing telephone in 2 locations at the same time, handsome.

I had very high expectations for this film because the story really appealed to me, but to be honest it was a bit disappointing. The story is mainly told through the eyes of the detective and I did not find his story very interesting. The description says that the detective's story has many connection points with the story of Reeves but apparently I missed something here because I wouldn't know what.

I found Reeves' story much more interesting to watch. I especially liked the mystery surrounding this case. The atmosphere, the music and everything around it completely matches the mystery that the actor has left behind. I thought that was well presented.

But unfortunately I feel that the detective's story destroyed too much of Reeves's story and I found it of little added value to the whole. Unfortunately.

I actually share the opinion of most of the users here. The scenes in the past with George Reeves are fascinating, those in the present (well, 1959) less so, especially as far as Louis Simo's private life is concerned, and the latter draws sufficient inspiration from the unhappy life of the former to create his own. getting life back on track comes a bit out of the blue. I, on the other hand, had no problem with the ending didn't deliver a "closing case"; the three possible scenarios are elegantly wrapped, and because of the playing of Brody, Affleck and Lane in particular, I did feel satisfied afterwards, despite the fact that the film was half an hour too long in my opinion.
What surprised me the most was the fact that among all the newspaper clippings and documents there was suddenly a photo of a real Hollywood death, of the actress Carole Landis who committed suicide in 1948 at the age of 29 - I recognized the photo from Kenneth Anger's scandal chronicle Holywood Babylon, but can also be found on the internet. Thus, this film becomes a curious mixture of fiction (George Reeves is not cut from From here to eternity at all), fact-based fiction and real facts.
