Fremder Freund plot
When student Chris (Antonio Wannek) is looking for a roommate, he comes across student Yunes (Navid Akhavan). Yunes was born in Yemen, but grew up in Germany. They soon develop a good relationship with each other and interact much more intensively than would be necessary for housemates. Their difference in background does not seem to play a role at first. First there are the girls: Julia and Nora, with whom they go on trips and parties. But they also argue. And they even study. Then Yunes begins to take life and his own Islamic background more and more seriously. And one day he disappeared without a trace. A few weeks before September 11.
