Docteur Laennec plot

Paris 1810. The Breton doctor René Laënnec fights desperately against tuberculosis, but cannot prevent his brother Michaud from dying of it. He is supported in his research work by his partner and friend, Doctor Bayle, but this man also dies before they can diagnose and cure the fatal disease. One day, however, Laënnec discovers the principle of sound transmission through wood and applies it to an important medical instrument that he invents himself, the stethoscope.
