Die Sünde der Engel plot

Daniel (Jens Eulenberger) is sentenced to compulsory treatment in a mental institution, because he is guilty of the lust murder of a young woman. Mother Julia (Gudrun Landgrebe) also feels guilty because she traumatized her son in his youth. When Daniel's condition seems to have stabilized, Julia decides to secretly swap her son for his twin brother Ralf, so that he can be spared the grueling time in the institution. Everything seems to be going well until Daniel comes into contact with his brother's girlfriend, who knows nothing about the mix-up.
