Natasha and her grandfather live in a small house near Moscow, where they make hats for Mrs. Irene and her lazy husband Paul. One day this Paul pays Natasha out with a lottery ticket, because he is supposedly short on cash. However, when the top prize falls on the ticket, he does everything he can to get it back.
