Der Tod der Maria Malibran plot
A biography of Maria Malibran, one of the greatest divas of the early 19th century. She collapses during a solo performance and dies, apparently the pressure of her popularity killed her. The film shows the life of this Maria Malibran through living tableaus: the memories of her youth, the relationship with her parents, her first love with a sailor. But especially the successes, her (sexual) popularity with women and the eventual decline that lead to her death.
