De Ziener plot

In a small-bourgeois town in the 1950s, turmoil ensues when voyeur Le Roy uses hypocrisy and gossip to spark a romance between a teacher and her student. The teacher rents a room in Le Roy's mother's house and tutors the student in her room. Initially, Le Roy uses the teacher and her student to satisfy his sexual fantasies. But as time goes by, he begins to see his objects more and more as friends. The seer is based on the 1959 novel of the same name written by Vestdijk.
