Barakat! plot
The story is set in the civil war-torn Algeria of the 1990s. Amel, a young doctor, takes the neighbor's critically ill child to the hospital. When she returned home, her husband Mourad, a journalist, had disappeared. Together with her older colleague, the nurse Khadija, she embarks on an arduous search that takes them to the hiding places of the Islamists. Khadija is herself a former fighter of the Algerian War of Independence. The journey ends where it started, with a surprising denouement.
