"A contemporary tale about a different kind of re-encounter between Africa and the Caribbean."
On arrival in the Dominican Republic, the French-Cameroonian Emma is arrested on suspicion of drug smuggling. She manages to escape and goes into hiding with three children in Santo Domingo whose mother has died and father is in prison. The eldest two continue their father's drug trade in order to give the youngest a financially better start in life. Meanwhile, Emma is forced to hide from the police.
