Baka Marudashi plot

Yasugoro, a returning World War II veteran, is stranded in a peaceful village on Japan's inland sea. He temporarily lives in one of the temple buildings and falls in love with Natsuko, the wife of the priest's eldest son. Her husband has been taken prisoner of war overseas and has been missing for years. Yasugoro tries to help Natsuko and her family with work and everyday life.
