Aszparuh plot
The Seventh Century is one of the Great Migrations. Under the pressure of invading other peoples, the proto-Bulgarian tribes under Khan Kubrat are divided into four groups in the hope that one of them will survive. For twenty years, Khan Kubrat's youngest son, Khan Asparoukh, has been wandering around to finally settle in the Balkans. The suffering of the Bulgarian people and its leader Khan Asparoukh is told by the Byzantine Velisarius, who was once taken as a hostage. In 681 Khan Asparoukh, together with other Slavic tribes, manages to inflict a final blow on the Byzantine army and thus lay the foundation for the Bulgarian nation.
