A Woman at Night plot

"Strangers in a big city, where dreams lurk in empty homes"

The young Chinese immigrant Yiling Li moves to London. She takes a new job at a real estate agency as a secretary, a step up from her previous job in a restaurant. But soon she is rejected and embarrassed by her colleagues. The man who hired her, a Chinese himself, turns out to be less friendly than he initially seemed. Yiling Li is comfortable alone in the small apartment she shares with Yao Yao. Soon she starts to worry about how she will pay the bills. When she sees a colleague rejecting yet another call from a man wanting to visit the former apartment of infamous serial killer Dennis Nilsen, Yiling Li quietly devises a money-making scheme. She will illegally show mysterious men around Nilsen's apartment.
