Very nice film about 2 people who are struggling with themselves and find some kind of comfort in each other. I remember Peck as a fat man in that children's series. He has apparently come to realize that he has a better chance of a movie role if he loses some weight. He's not bad at all I must say. Kingsley is by far the best actor, but Thirlby also does an excellent job. Also nice to hear the music from my childhood. Don't think too much about what you'll see in this film. A white emo who deals drugs in the dark quarters. He wouldn't have survived a day in real life. And if that wasn't the case, the police would of course have arrested him long ago. Unfortunately, they do not go very deeply into the families. Also, the ending could have been a bit more dramatic for me. That you are really left with a bad feeling. Unfortunately, it will not have impressed me enough, so that I will have forgotten him again next week.

Nice, but no more than that.

Some annoying characters with which it is difficult to identify, and I was happy about that in the end. It's a cast full of losers, it's just a shame that Levine doesn't really succeed in getting the viewer who normally stands outside of it.

Drama is a bit bland, luckily Peck plays nicely and Kingsley is there to fill in the dead moments. He still plays a very cool role, in terms of madness one of the better American actors. Music was good and not really my thing, I didn't think it worked very well within the film.

Visually nice, but not very striking. All in all, it makes for a movie that looks away smoothly, bounces here and there, but ultimately sticks a bit stiffly.

3.0*

Mediocre film about a boy who has just graduated from school and deals weed with, among others, a psychiatrist. A coming-of-age story in which not too much happens and because of this it ripples on without it getting really annoying. The film is set in New York City during the summer of 1994 and the soundtrack is filled with hip-hop from that era. Just not 3.0 stars.
