A Summer without Boys plot

During the Second World War, Bain and her daughter Lenz stay in a guest house on the coast. Initially, Lenz thinks her father's divorce is related to the war, but it gradually becomes clear to her that her parents want to separate. When she discovers that her mother takes a more than usual interest in the much younger Moriarty, her world collapses. She accepts her friend's proposal to spend the night with three sailors.
