A Modern Hero plot

Pierre Radier is part of a traveling circus. He falls in love with young Joanna Ryan. She becomes pregnant and Pierre wants to marry her. Joanna, however, rejects Pierre and marries someone else. Tired of circus life, Pierre opens a bicycle shop with the idea that he can earn more money that way. He is very successful and wants to play a bigger role in his son's life.
