The USA vs. Bergdahl plot
In June 2009, Bowe Bergdahl ran away from a military outpost in Afghanistan. The Taliban captured him and demanded ransom. After five years, two escapes, torture and being held in an iron cage, he was released in a controversial prisoner swap. But then the nightmare began. Bergdahl became a political plaything between the president who brought him home and his challenger who wants him against the wall. And the media liked to play that game. Journalist Sean Langan was also previously detained by the same group that held Bergdahl. That was only four months, but memories that won't go away and still affect his work and his life. That's why he became so fascinated with Bergdahl's case and was able to speak to his parents first and later Bowe himself.
