The Medallion plot

Ruth was barely a teenager when her mother passed on her locket. This locket was not only an artifact, it was also a symbol of her mother's unimaginable plight; captured in high school by the Derg communist military regime and raised for years in a prison camp, separated from her family. Filmmaker Ruth and her mother return to Ethiopia and investigate her mother's story as a survivor of the Red Terror genocide.
