In 1981, three friends at a diner in Houston launched the Compaq computer. It was a portable computer with which they started the competition against IBM, which at the time meant the supremacy for the PC. Many companies had tried to clone the code of the world leader in this industry, but were mercilessly slaughtered by IBM and its expensive lawyers. “Silicon Cowboys” explores the remarkable David vs Goliath story, and the eventual demise of Compaq, an unlikely upstart who changed the future of the computer and helped shape the world as we know it today.
