Rulon Gardner Won't Die plot

Rulon Gardner is a dairy farmer from Wyoming who stunned the world at the Sydney Olympics by defeating a Russian wrestler who had not lost a match in 13 years. A few months after winning his gold medal, Rulon had his toe amputated due to severe frostbite after being stranded in the wilderness in subzero temperatures. Rulon went on to win another medal at the next Olympics with nine toes, and after surviving a near-fatal motorcycle accident. Then he survived a plane crash by swimming a few miles across a freezing lake after the crash.
