Project Nim plot
"The world will be a different place once you've seen it through his eyes."
Director James Marsh tells the story of the chimpanzee Nim in this documentary. In 1974 Nim, two weeks old, is included in a sort of hippie-like community of researchers and teachers who enthusiastically get to work with Nim Chimpsky. He is raised as if it were a child. This documentary starts with psychologist Herb Terrace's idea of investigating the cognitive properties of a chimpanzee. To find out what a chimpanzee might think, the experiment was born to teach a chimpanzee to use language.
